The construction of Corran Horn’s custom lightsaber took place on the planet Courkrus, using scavenged parts collected from a pirate den known as The Crash.
The hilt, crafted from alloy and fragments of transparisteel and quadanium steel, was inspired by a horticultural column written by his step-grandfather, Rostek Horn.
Corran had unearthed the schematics embedded in the design—an emergency build method that allowed him to finish the saber in just two days. His initial choice for the primary crystal was Kubaz xirkonia, a synthetic diamond, which proved unreliable and burned out in combat.
He later replaced it with a real diamond and emerald, in addition to the Durindfire crystal that gave the blade its iconic silver hue.
